The Spring UKCPI regional meeting took place on 9th April at Wychwood Park, Crewe, and was a well-attended event with a full agenda on biocides and CLP. The members’ only event provided advice through four presentations from the Health & Safety Executive (HSE), Reckitt Benckiser, BAMA (British Aerosol Manufacturers Association) and UKCPI.
Jon Taylor and Arjun Channi talked the delegates through their experience of compiling a product dossier for authorisation. Caroline Smalley from the HSE gave an overview of the Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR) Product Authorisation, giving advice on the application process.
Paul Jackson from BAMA discussed Aerosol Dispenser Labelling as well as an examination of the CLP regulations coming into effect this year.
Finally, Steven Stewart from UKCPI advised delegates on ‘Getting Ready for CLP’. Steven offers an advice service to members looking for technical help in any of these areas.
Regional meetings, which take place biannually, offer UKCPI members a chance to seek advice and share issues affecting them as an industry. The events are free for members and lunch and refreshments are always included.
